Cat Invaders Controls
Aim assist, pause shopping, and the right-side Codes button that everyone misses.
Cat Invaders uses standard Roblox movement with a custom HUD stacked on the right. Most wipes that people blame on “lag” are actually missed pause windows, aim assist left off, or a thumb covering the Codes icon. This page is the input guide that Getting Started only pointed at.
There is no secret key that skips Floppa. There is a small set of settings that make the how to play loop feel human.
Default movement
On PC you move with WASD, jump with Space, and look with the mouse. Attack is the usual Roblox click or tool activate for whatever weapon is equipped. Shift-lock helps if you kite Floppa sideways; it hurts if you need to spin on a swarm at your feet.
On mobile, the left stick moves, the jump button jumps, and you fire with the right-side attack control. The Codes / shop icons share that right edge, which is why how to redeem tells you to rotate the camera if a thumb is in the way.
Gamepad uses the left stick to move and the face buttons to jump and confirm shop rows. Aim assist is almost mandatory here.
Aim assist
Wave-100 tutorials start with a sentence that sounds like a cheat and is actually a setting: turn aim assist on, especially in solo. Solo spawns clump. Assist helps splash weapons (snowball, yarn, grenade) track the clump instead of the grass.
Turn it off only if you are on mouse and the assist is pulling shots into a tanky El Gato while squishy cats eat the fish. Everyone else should leave it on until they have a reason.
Pause and shop
The shop is not only between waves. You can pause a wave, upgrade range, and unpause — that is the core of the upgrade priority route. If you cannot find pause:
- PC: Esc or the in-experience pause / shop button on the HUD.
- Mobile: the menu icon, then the shop tabs. Avoid opening the Roblox system menu unless you mean to leave.
- If the match is an 18-player public server, pause may not freeze the world for everyone. Shop anyway, but do not assume time stopped.
Never open Roblox Settings looking for codes. Codes are an in-game button. Settings is graphics and volume.
HUD map
Right side: Codes, often next to other social or utility icons. Gold total: on the main HUD; if it looks stale after a redeem, close and reopen the shop. Health: eat food before it hits panic red. Food is a tool, not a cutscene you save for the highlight reel. Wave number: believe it. Wave 49 means Floppa homework, not “one more melee upgrade.”
Solo spawn spacing
In solo, cats often funnel through a tighter approach. Stand off-axis so splash covers the lane and you still have an escape toward the wall. In co-op, people stack on the fish and then complain about friendly clutter. Spread: one on lane, one on fish, Medic behind. Builds assigns those jobs.
Mobility during bosses
Floppa lasers punish standing still. Strafe perpendicular to the beam. Do not backpedal in a straight line down the wooden corridor if the corridor is the killbox — see the wave-99 thumbnail style lanes on this wiki’s screenshots. Jumping helps over green ground. Green is a wipe, not a buff.
King Meowl and Emperor Maxwell are later gear checks. Same movement language: circle, eat, do not greed melee.
Graphics and performance
A busy 18-player server with max cats will tank phones. Drop graphics in Roblox Settings if your ranged shots feel delayed. Input lag makes assist look broken when it is actually a frame time problem. PC players should hide other experiences and close overlay apps that hook the client.
Accessibility notes
There is no official colorblind mode documented by OneBed Studio. Green hazard puddles are the main color cue; if you cannot see them, watch for ground decals and jump early. Volume stings help on some boss tells. We will note any real accessibility patch on the updates hub.
Once the HUD is muscle memory, go back to how to play for economy and to high waves for where to stand when the lane is nothing but cats.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Cat Invaders questions.
Should I use aim assist in Cat Invaders?
Yes for mobile, gamepad, and most solo ranged runs. Mouse mains can turn it off if it pulls onto tanks.
How do I pause to upgrade?
Use the in-game pause or shop HUD, not Roblox Settings. Public 18-player servers may not freeze for everyone.
Why can I not find the Codes button?
It is on the right side of the experience HUD. Rotate the camera on mobile if your thumb covers it.
Is there a sprint key?
Movement is standard Roblox. Kiting comes from strafing and jump, not a hidden dash unless a class adds one.
