Cat Invaders Weapon Tier List
What to upgrade when the shop offers too many jokes and only one win condition.
Weapons are the Cat Invaders shop. Classes flavor the kit; Gold spent on the wrong tool is a wipe you paid for. This list ranks weapon tracks, not every cosmetic swing name, because the snowball line changes models as you upgrade (snowball, heavier throws, yarn, spikes) and the rank stays “splash that hits a clump.”
Use it with upgrade priority and the class tier list. A Snowman with max walls and a chicken leg is still a C-tier run.
S tier
Ranged splash (snowball line)
The default solo carry. Tutorials tell you to melee for 200 Gold, then dump everything into this track until it spawn-camps. That advice is boring and correct. Stand off the pack so the splash is their problem, not yours. High waves is this weapon with more zeros.
Bounce / yarn shots
When the upgrade turns throws into bounces, packs melt. Satisfying and efficient. Buy it when the shop offers it; do not hoard Gold for a laser you cannot afford while cats chew fish.
Food track (honorary S)
Not a gun. Still the reason you survive Floppa lasers. Infinite-feeling food upgrades are more important than a third wall tier.
A tier
Laser cannon
Big numbers, big price, shows up in co-op VODs as the “we made it” button. A-tier because it is greedy: if you buy it instead of regen armor at wave 48, Floppa writes a review. After the boss, it is a star.
Bow / long range
Safe, less splash. Good when you are learning kiting in beat Floppa. Worse than splash at deleting a 40-cat pile.
Grenades
Clumps fear them. Named bosses with huge HP less so. Pair with a class that already likes throws.
B tier
Turrets from crates
Extra barrels. They do not replace your weapon rank. Nice in co-op when someone is the mason.
Water bottle / joke ranged
VODs upgrade through joke names. If the numbers go up, it is still the splash track in a funny hat. If they do not, it is a thumbnail.
C tier as a main, S as a bootstrap
Melee (chicken, swords, turkey)
Best 200 Gold you will spend, then retire it. Knight can keep a sword for add control. Everyone else should feel slightly embarrassed swinging at wave 40.
Boss versus pack ranking
Packs: splash > grenades > bow > melee.
Floppa / El Gato: splash or laser that you can fire while strafing > melee.
Maxwell: whatever you already maxed plus food. You will not respec in the cutscene.
Spending rules that beat the letters
- Codes first — working codes.
- Melee bootstrap.
- Splash ranks until the pack dies before it walks.
- Merchant coin boost over vanity.
- Regen armor before the first named cat.
- Food so the armor is not a placebo.
- Walls last unless the fish is currently being eaten.
Getting Started is this list in tutorial voice. How to play is the loop around it.
If a patch adds a new legendary plunger that one-shots Maxwell, we will move it to S and laugh. Until then, splash is the meta hiding under meme names.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common Cat Invaders questions.
Should I upgrade melee or ranged first?
Melee only until about 200 Gold, then ranged splash until it carries packs.
Is the laser cannon worth it?
Yes after armor and a healthy ranged track. No if it replaces your Floppa regen buy.
Do weapons reset each run?
Shop progress is tied to the session economy. Account unlocks such as classes persist; spend Gold as if the wave can still wipe you.
Where does food rank?
Honorary S. Dead players deal no splash.
